Banjara Market is known for pocket-friendly furniture pieces, traditional home decor items, quirky crockery sets and much more. Gadiya Lohars from Rajasthan had launched this market in Sector 56, Gurgaon in the mid-2000s. Soon after, the stunning products of the market started drawing the attention of people in Gurgaon as well as Delhi. Pieces of Banjana market can be found even in the poshest homes of Delhi NCR.
Fall And Rise Of Banjara Market!
In October 2021, local authorities started demolishing the iconic Banjara Market in Sector 56. Shops and hutments at the market were knocked down by the authorities due to official project plans. Some shopkeepers had set up their stalls outside the main market area after the demolition. But in April 2022, another demolition drive was carried out. Banjara Market has been the only source of livelihood for many shopkeepers ever since the market was set up. Thus, the demolition of the market at Sector 56 had thrown the lives of these shopkeepers out of gear. The new location of the market is making the vendors breathe a sign of relief all over again.
The New Market Will Have Food Stalls And Ample Parking Space
Videos of the new market in the making were shared on the YouTube channel Mparjapat Creation. As per the channel, the market at the new location opened its doors on July 26, 2022. A food court will also be set up in the market for buyers to binge on a wide array of delish food options after they are done with their shopping. The new market has ample parking space as well, unlike Sector 56. The shops here are already showcasing chic decor pieces like wall hangings, terracotta chandeliers and statues, along with fancy furniture pieces. The market has around 200 shops.
