To mark ‘World Heart Day’ Bengaluru authorities came up with a unique idea of installing heart-shaped traffic lights around the city. Yes, to encourage the tech city into a ‘heart smart city’ a few red signals across the city were transformed into heart shapes. While many people are amazed by this pleasant move, others are wondering more about the reason behind it.

According to reports, Manipal Hospitals installed these heart-shaped traffic lights across the city. After consulting Bengaluru Traffic Police and Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), they installed these heart-shaped red lights. And, around 15 signals have been part of this campaign for World Heart Day.

This noble joint initiative of Manipal Hospital, with BTP, and with BBMP aims to provide quick access to first aid for cases. cardiac emergency.
A post on the hospital chain’s Twitter handle read: “On the occasion of #WorldHeartDay, Manipal Hospital encourages Bangalore to be a ‘heart smart city’. These included a red heart-shaped traffic light, voice messages to raise heart health awareness, and a QR code for easy access to emergency services rather than calling them.”

Manipal Hospitals Has Also Set Up QR Codes Near Traffic Signals
In addition to these newly installed lights, Manipal Hospital administrators have installed QR codes near traffic signals. Scanning these codes connects the victim to an emergency number and transfers them to emergency services with one click. The idea is to provide emergency assistance at the click of a button.
