Pro-Kannada organisations and farmer associations conducted a bandh in Bengaluru to protest against the Karnataka government’s decision about the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. From Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation to Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation, more departments, organisations, and groups came in support of the shutdown. Here’s all the updates about it.

On September 26, 2023, this shutdown is being conducted. There are many questions and confusion among people regarding the services of transportation on the road. When it comes to Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation, the buses are operational. Also, all the routes of BMTC in the Bengaluru capital are operational, according to a report by LiveMint.

Kempegowda bus stop is a major busy bus station. A huge number of commuters transport from here every single day. But there are very number of commuters at the bus stop today because of the bandh.

Updates About The Disruptions In Buses:

Some buses operating to Karnataka from Tamil Nadu faced some issues due to the Bengaluru bandh. Some buses on this route to Karnataka from Tamil Nadu are put to a stop at Zuzuvadi in the Krishnagiri district, The Times of India reported.

Are Ola & Uber Cabs Operating?

Bengalureans are not going to face many issues in booking a cab and travelling somewhere on it as Ola and Uber’s cabs are running. Tanveer Pasha, the President of Ola Uber Drivers and Owners Association, said that the operations of cabs are going to be regular according to usual standards.

Are Autos Operating In Bengaluru Bandh?

Auto drivers are in support of the bandh conducted by different organisations. Also, no autos are running on the streets of the Karnataka capital, according to a report by The Times of India.

Pictures and videos of the bandh, empty roads, and a few commuters on buses are making rounds on different social media platforms.

Government offices, post offices, banks, Namma metro, hospitals, labs, petrol bunks, app-based cabs, and milk booths are operational. Schools, colleges, industries, cinema multiplexes, and shopping malls are closed.
