You can find the strangest things on the streets of India. A woman in Bengaluru was recently found using her phone while riding a scooter. The phone in question wasn’t in the lady’s hand but rather tied around her ear with the help of a scarf. The video has since gone viral and people on the Internet are not impressed with her “jugaad”. Netizens have called her out for her reckless riding and slammed the Bengaluru traffic police for not taking strict actions against such behaviour on the road.
Woman’s Phone “Jugaad” While Riding A Scooter In Bengaluru
Absolutely hilarious way of using phone while riding a two wheeler, caught on camera 🤯 This was uploaded on Instagram few days ago. I wonder how the lady even thought of doing this when the traffic police is stationed pretty much everywhere in the city and AI cameras installed… pic.twitter.com/HSjIbiqOG0

X (formerly Twitter) user, @3rdEyeDude, shared a video showing a woman in Bengaluru riding a scooter with a scarf around her head to keep her phone from falling. This hands-free solution or rather “jugaad” was witnessed near Vidyaranyapura, Opposite NTI grounds in Bengaluru on March 26. The X (formerly Twitter) user has also tagged the Bengaluru traffic police on the post. The video has raised many questions about road safety and the risks associated with using a phone while driving a vehicle.
Netizens Are Not Impressed With This Reckless Behaviour
As you can imagine, not everyone was impressed with this Bengaluru lady’s phone jugaad! Many people in the comments called her out for putting not just her but other people’s lives in danger as well.
There’s nothing hilarious about putting others lives in danger.

Not innovation, not jugaad. Its stupidity.
This is a common practice by almost all delivery partners for food and goods.
Whats more concerning is people put neckband earphones on which will block sounds from surroundings. These are the ones that ride like maniacs all the time.

There is never a dearth of idiots in India. They always find innovative ways to break road rules and put everyone in harm’s way. Inko baat karna itna zaroori hai ki scooty chalate waqt bhi nahi ruk sakte.

While many were concerned about the lady’s reckless driving and phone hack, others found a hilarious lining in this entire situation.

Aside from the fact that she’s not wearing a helmet, I see no laws being broken. It’s hands-free.. quite literally.

Hands free smart phone with vehicle noise cancellation.

New meaning for “Bluetooth”.

Though not defending this, she is for better than those who speaks on mobile while riding 2 wheelers with their head bent on the side of the ear they hear the call. Scared to drive past them

I have seen people keeping mobile inside helmet. She overtook it. Her concentration definitely was towards that mobile shouldn’t fall.

Many people believe it is the lack of law enforcement by the Bengaluru traffic police that such a jugaad is seen in the streets of the city.
I blame the RTO & the traffic cops for not following their own MV Act rules & enforcing them strictly. Why have such laws which no one follows & can’t/won’t be enforced? Anyone who follows traffic rules diligently will actually end up in an accident!

Bangalore…very strict Traffic police..how 🤔
— Bharath (@bharthkr) March 27, 2024
There’s absolutely no enforcement. Hence no fear!

Is there a new rule about traffic police not being allowed to find violators on the spot? I feel like I read this a few days ago & I’ve not been able to find any articles about this.
— BrilliantDonut (@BrilliantDonut) March 27, 2024
1. No fear of police.
2. No action, just issuing challan. Most of them don’t even know tht they have challan against their vehicle— Move on (@ok_move_on) March 27, 2024
India not for “Beginners”.
— Dave (@motordave2) March 27, 2024
Traffic police in Bangalore is least bothered. They will take pics and then start playing on their mobiles. I see every day on Ram Murthy Nagar junction. There is rampant wrong side driving by TW & Auto guys. Helmets are rarely seen. BMTC drivers park wherever they want. Endless

It seems like not everyone was as lucky at dodging the traffic police as this lady.
My business partner did something similar with the mobile tucked in between his helmet & got pulled over by a cop in kochi & fined 500!

Bengaluru is definitely for beginners, it seems! What is your take on this phone and dupatta hack? Fill us in in the comments!
