Now, Bengaluru’s Namma metro will have extra trains running on the Purple line. These additional trains on the Purple Line are said to be a trial run and, if successful, will also be introduced on other lines as well. All this information was stated by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) in an announcement.
The statement by BMRCL mentioned that during the morning peak hours, commuters between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station – Majestic and Mahatma Gandhi Road metro station will surely get some relief with these extra trains. From September 1, there will be additional trains from Monday to Friday.
However, these services will only run until the MG Road station. The commuters who wish to travel till Baiyappanahalli must take another train at MG Road Station.

Comfortable Use Of Public Transport
The commuters who wish to travel towards Baiyappanahalli, which is beyond Mahatma Gandhi Road, can alight at Mahatma Gandhi Road metro station and board the other train. Bengaluru’s Namma metro asked users to make use of this new facility.
In recent times, especially during peak hours, the Purple Line has seen huge footfall. Hence, the commuters actually requested Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to come up with a solution. BMRCL paid heed to these requests and came up with this solution so that people can comfortably use public transport.
The 2-kilometer Baiyappanahalli-KR Puram stretch will also be inaugurated in September. With this service, Bengaluru East will connect to central and southern Bengaluru.
