Vishnupad Temple In Bihar Is Known For Lord Vishnu’s Footprint
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Vishnupad Temple in Bihar features a 40 cm footprint that is believed to be Lord Vishnu’s. This is one of the reasons thousands of people from across and outside India visit this holy place. Not just that, it is also one of the most important places for a ritual called ‘Pinda Daan’. Many families perform this ritual to pray for their ancestors and seek peace for the souls of their departed family members.
According to ETV Bharat, the Bihar government has now approved a ₹2,520 crore proposal to develop the premises and neighbouring areas of Vishnupad Temple in Gaya on the lines of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. Plus, they will also spend ₹996 crore to link the Sone and Phalgu rivers.

Development Plan To Improve Pilgrim Facilities
The temple and its surroundings are located along the Phalgu River, which remains dry for the majority of the year. According to ETV Bharat, authorities believe that linking it with the Sone River could provide a regular water supply, even during the dry season. The development also focuses on providing better facilities to pilgrims while strengthening spiritual and religious tourism in Gaya.
Reportedly, the development scheme will include work in the Vishnupad Temple precinct. This includes the development of the temple complex, multi-level car parking, elevated pathways and ghats along the banks of the Phalgu. Additionally, the project also includes the construction of statues, Sita Kund, public amenities and many other facilities in the temple premises.
