BRICS Summit: Delhi Airport Issues Travel Advisory; Use These 2 Metro Lines To Reach Airport

The 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi is all set to take place from September 12 to 13 at Bharat Mandapam. Ahead of this event, Delhi Airport has now issued an important travel advisory for passengers, as they may face longer travel times between September 11 and 13 due to extensive traffic restrictions. Here’s what you need to know.

Delhi Airport Advises Passengers To Use Metro

Due to ongoing traffic restrictions and heightened security measures in the Capital Region, commuting to and from Delhi Airport may take longer than usual.

Delhi Traffic Police recently issued a detailed plan about traffic restrictions and alternative routes in the city due to the upcoming BRICS Summit. And now, Delhi Airport has also issued a travel advisory on its official X account for passengers commuting to and from the airport. The commute may take extra time due to traffic restrictions, and passengers are advised to take the Delhi Metro instead of travelling by road.

Moreover, people should also plan their journey in advance and allow extra time to reach the airport to avoid last-minute inconvenience. Here are the metro lines that passengers are advised to use:

• For reaching Terminal 3 and Terminal 2: Use the Airport Express Line.
• For reaching Terminal 1: Use the Magenta Line.

Delhi To See Traffic Restrictions During BRICS Summit

According to Moneycontrol, this advisory by Delhi Airport comes after the Delhi Traffic Police advisory for commuters. New Delhi will see heightened security during the BRICS Summit as leaders from different nations are expected in the city. Several roads and routes will witness regulated movement, and commuters are being advised to avoid unnecessary travel in restricted areas.

The authorities have specially advised commuters travelling towards the airport, railway stations and major transit points to plan their journey in advance and leave early. Allowing extra time will help them avoid unnecessary problems on the way.
