Travelling abroad sounds incredible, but the wait for the visa is kind of a mood spoiler. The long list of waiting for appointments till you get your turn is frustrating, time-consuming, and even expensive in some cases. After COVID-19, the Indian Government banned the e-visa facility for British citizens. As a result, many people had to opt for in-person appointments to get their visas, and some had to cancel their plans. But the good news is that India will resume the service soon. And British travellers can get e-visas to India.
The E-Visas For British Travellers
Vikram Doraiswami, the High Commissioner of India in London, issued a video stating the e-visa facility will resume for British travellers to India. The video on Twitter by @HCI_London, the Indian Embassy of London’s official account, was with a tweet stating that the site for e-visa is undergoing an upgrade and will be ready soon. The High Commissioner further stated in the video that they look forward to celebrating the festival and a good winter season.

The Impact Of The Ban On Business
Though the ban on e-visa was a poor decision as it affected the tourism industry in which the majority of people earn their living. In fact, other countries did benefit from this ban. The date when the visa facility will resume is not known yet. Moreover, the revoking of the ban came very late when many had cancelled their plans or diverted to other countries.
