Budweiser, Hoegaarden Banned From Delhi For The Next 3 Years

All you party people in Delhi here is some news that might dampen all your party plans! Delhi Government has put a ban on the sale and circulation of all beer manufactured by Anheuser-Busch InBev, and this includes beer like Budweiser, Hoegarden, and Stella Artois.

What Is It?

AB-InBev, the world’s largest brewery has been banned from Delhi for the next three years for the evasion of tax, and Delhiites are not very happy about it.

In 2016, the brewery had purchased SABMiller which according to a government investigation had allegedly been supplying beer bottles with duplicate bar codes to city retailer. This, in turn, allowed the company to pay a lesser tax.

The ban on the manufacturing brewery includes a ban on sales and circulation of any beer manufactured by them. Liquor Shops cannot sell fresh stocks of AB-InBev beer. Moreover, both the company’s warehouses have been sealed.

This news just a day after Budweiser announced ‘Budweiser 0.0’ that is a non-alcoholic beverage, will cost a major set back to the company. Because of the decline in sales in Delhi, the finances of the company might also take a hit.
