Campbell Bay In Great Nicobar Islands Is Now Open To Tourists
According to a report by TOI, the Centre in Rajya Sabha informed that they issued a total of 8026 tickets to islanders and non-islanders since January 2023 to visit Campbell Bay in Great Nicobar Island. The report further states that out of the 8026 tickets issued, a total of 7316 were to islanders and 710 were issued to non-islanders. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, informed this as a response to a query by two members of the House.
The Minister further stated that the government has taken many steps to encourage tourism in Great Nicobar Island by offering faster and more reliable internet connectivity with helicopter services, optical fibre cable and even under the Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) Scheme, as per a TOI report.
Do keep in mind, that the Great Nicobar Island is governed by the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Protection of Aboriginal Tribes) Regulation, 1956 and many other rules and laws. Now, that it’s open to people, one must respect and follow these guidelines when visiting it.
