After A Lot Of Convincing, The Kid Wore The Mask But Was Constantly Removing It

Safwan Choudhary was flying to Toronto on WestJet Flight 652 with his wife, their three-year-old daughter and 19-month-old infant. Choudhry and his wife were wearing masks, but their children weren’t. They were told by crew members that the children must wear masks as well. To curb the situation, Airline crew supposedly told the family that the plane could not take off unless the children were wearing masks. The airline crew further alerted the incident to the Calgary police. However, according to the government of Canada website, children under two are exempt from wearing masks on planes. Speaking about the incident, the airline said that the problem was with the three-year-old child not wearing a mask, not the infant.

WestJet Has A Zero-tolerance Policy On Wearing Masks On Flights.

Choudhry spoke to a few local news outlets and said he acknowledged that the airline meant no hate. However, the pandemic has led to it seems like “we are losing our humanity”.

Shortly after the Canadian family was escorted from the plane, the flight was cancelled for the rest as well. It is so because WestJet has a zero-tolerance policy on mask-wearing on flights.
