Akansha Ranjan Kapoor has just given pehli rasoi a very different plot. Freshly married to filmmaker Sharan Sharma, the actor recently invited Kamiya Jani into her home for Sunday Brunch, and the conversation naturally wandered into what happened when the newlyweds had to do the whole “new ghar, new kitchen” thing. Except, in Akansha’s version, there was very little actual cooking involved. The couple’s wedding took place in July in an intimate Mumbai ceremony, and now we finally have a glimpse of what happened after the wedding festivities were over.

Akansha Ranjan Kapoor Reveals What Happened During Her Pehli Rasoi

So, did Akansha make the traditional pehli rasoi? Not really! She explained that they had their own, slightly messy version of the ritual. When the panditji arrived for a house puja, he ended up boiling the milk. This sounds perfectly harmless until you remember that Akansha Ranjan Kapoor is, by her own admission, scared of fire.

And then there was Sharan. Instead of the classic newlywed scene where the husband stands nearby encouraging his wife as she cooks, Akanksha recalls that both of them were basically trying to stay away from the fire. At some point, the kitchen seems to have become less “first meal as a married couple” and more “who can exit first?” Her mother, watching the proceedings, apparently had the most appropriate reaction of all: “Oh my God, kya hoga is ghar ka?”

Panditji Ended Up Boiling The Milk!

There is something perfect about the whole story. A Bollywood bride enters her new kitchen, the panditji handles the milk, the groom avoids the fire, the bride is equally keen to stay away from it, and the mother is left questioning the future of the household. Somewhere between all that chaos, Akansha and Sharan seem to have discovered their first married-life skill: knowing exactly when not to interfere.

So, their pehli rasoi ended up being unusual, as Pandit ji took the speed run and boiled the first dish as part of a puja.

For now, though, Akansha seems to have found a much safer way to contribute to the household menu: knowing where Mumbai’s good burgers are. And judging by the spread she ordered for Kamiya Jani, that might actually be the more useful talent.
