Jackie Shroff Reveals His 3 Favourite Hangout Spots In Mumbai To Kamiya Jani

Some celebrities are associated with a city. Then there’s Jackie Shroff, who somehow feels like an extension of Mumbai itself. The actor recently joined Kamiya Jani on Sunday Brunch, and the episode had everything fans have come to expect from Jaggu Dada: stories, nostalgia, unexpected one-liners, and a surprising amount of enthusiasm for plants and vegetables.

Jackie Shroff Gets Nostalgic About Old Bombay

Put him in a conversation about Mumbai, and you don’t just get answers, you get memories, observations, and the occasional punchline delivered so casually that it catches everyone off guard.

At one point, Kamiya Jani, our editor-in-chief, brought up South Bombay, noting how parts of it still feel like old Bombay. Jackie immediately leaned into the sentiment. For someone who has watched the city transform over decades, the conversation clearly struck a chord.

Speaking about Mumbai’s past, he mentioned the city’s seven islands and recalled how beautiful the landscape once was. According to him, Chowpatty was one of those islands, a reminder of how different the city looked before it became the sprawling metropolis people know today.

His Favourite Places In Mumbai

And then came the inevitable question: where does Jackie Shroff like to spend time in Mumbai?

He mentioned Nariman Point. More specifically, a quiet corner where, as he described it, you can simply sit and take in the surroundings.

Another place that instantly brought a smile to his face was Marine Drive. Long before they became one of Bollywood’s most enduring couples, Jackie and Ayesha Shroff spent time walking along that stretch together. Listening to him speak, one could almost picture a younger Mumbai and a younger Jackie Shroff strolling by the sea alongside the woman who would later become his wife.

But the funniest moment arrived when Kamiya Jani mentioned a comment she often sees online: “If Mumbai were a person, it would be Jackie Shroff.”

Jackie looked pleased, but also slightly puzzled.

“What does that mean?” he asked.

Kamiya explained that people see him as cool, effortless, warm, and authentic, the same qualities they associate with Mumbai.

Without missing a beat, Jackie fired back with a response only he could deliver.

But abhi Mumbai is really hot.”

Everyone around erupted in laughter.

It was such a classic Jaggu Dada moment! A compliment came his way, and instead of basking in it, he turned it into a weather joke.
