We’re back with an amazing new Sunday Brunch episode, and it’s already live, folks! This time, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, visited actor and music director Piyush Mishra at his home. He welcomed her with genuine warmth, even telling her that anyone feeling homesick or struggling with something could always come to him for real, home-cooked comfort. Here’s what went down on this Sunday Brunch!
A Hearty Sunday Brunch With Piyush Mishra
Piyush Mishra has worn many hats in his life — actor, author, music director and even the founder of his own band. His journey still manages to surprise everyone, including Kamiya Jani. However, acting remains his one true love! When asked how he figured out what he wanted to do in his life, the very talented actor said that in his childhood, he did everything, like writing, painting, and singing. When he started working as an actor while doing theatre, it helped him figure out his in-built complex, and that’s when he finally figured out what to do in his life.
He took Kamiya on a small tour of his home. He showed her some of his favourite corners, and the highlight was his green, peaceful balcony — one of the main reasons he fell in love with the house. During the conversation, Piyush also shared that he visited Igatpuri for a shibir and learned vipassana, something that deeply influenced him in life.

Mumbai Vs Delhi: Which City Does He Prefer?
Piyush Mishra has spent a lot of years living in Delhi, and now he calls Mumbai home. When asked which city he prefers, he instantly chose Mumbai. He said the city feels safer for women, even late at night, and added that people in Mumbai “vakt pe kaam aate hain.”
During Sunday Brunch, Piyush and Kamiya shared a warm, simple meal served on a banana leaf. While chatting, Kamiya asked him to choose between Mysore Pak and Gajak — and he immediately picked Gajak. As the conversation flowed, we even played a fun ‘This or That’ game and got to know more about the actor’s taste and experiences.
He also spoke about how much he admires the work culture in South India. When the topic shifted to his personal life, Kamiya asked how he met his wife, Priya Narayanan. Piyush shared that they met in Delhi at an institute where she was studying and he was doing theatre. He knew early on that he wanted to marry her. The two were in a relationship for three years, and Piyush admitted that things weren’t easy back then since he wasn’t earning much, which led to many challenges along the way.
