Things were going smoothly in the Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday until the region was hit by an earthquake. It was past 9 PM when a 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted this town. An Earthquake Jolted Chamba Last Night
Taking to the X platform, the National Center for Seismology (@NCS_Earthquake) shared important information about the recent quake reported in the Chamba region in the hilly Indian state.

According to the information shared by the National Center for Seismology, the 5.3 magnitude earthquake hit Chamba at a depth of 10 km. It was at 9:34 PM IST on April 4 when the tremors of the quake were felt. The earthquake hit Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba region with a latitude of 33.09 and a longitude of 76.59.
The trembling of the most recent earthquake lasted in Chambal for a few seconds only. The vibrations and shakiness due to the earthquake were felt far away from the affected Himachal Pradesh town as well. According to a report by Hindustan Times, tremors were experienced in Chandigarh, Haryana, and Punjab. Several parts of North India felt them for a few seconds last night.
In addition to these places in the northern part of the country, Manali also felt strong tremors on Thursday night. This scenic hill station is located far away from Chamba but still, the shakiness of the 5.3 magnitude earthquake reached there as well.

Are There Any Updates On Damages Or Injuries?

The video shows the switched-off ceiling fan shaking because of all the tremors. Also, a few soft drink bottles, a juice carton, and an oil container were kept on a flat surface and all these were seen shaking due to the 5.3 magnitude earthquake tremors.
Right after the quake jolted the Chamba region, there were no reports of any damages or destruction of properties. Also, there were no reports of injuries or casualties.
