Calling all night owls and wildlife enthusiasts! A new adventure has come knocking on your door! Chandaka-Dampara Wildlife Sanctuary in Bhubaneshwar, one of Odisha’s biggest wildlife sanctuaries, has launched a night safari programme! Yes! You read that right! You can enjoy observing wild beasts in their natural habitat at night times. Here is all of the important information that you would need to know about this amazing new initiative by the Chandaka-Dampara Wildlife Sanctuary!

According to an article which was recently published by Odisha TV, the night safari programme began on January 29, Monday. It was inaugurated by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests or the PCCF, Susanta Nanda. The night safari will remain open until 9:30 PM, as per the article.

This move has been widely recognised as a laudable one as it will enable visitors of all kinds to learn more about the wild beasts and their behaviour at night. It is also hoped that by launching this programme, more and more visitors will be attracted to the sanctuary.

What is more, it makes visiting hours more convenient as those who do not have time to visit during the day can do so at night as well. Hence, it is widely considered as a positive move.

On the inaugural day, provisions for a nocturnal trail for students were made by the Forest Department. Students from many schools were present and went on a night trail at the wildlife sanctuary.

There were around twelve buses that carried the students on the trail. It was aimed to provide further enlightenment on the local fauna and their behaviour at night.
