All around the country, Vande Bharat Express trains are being flagged off. These new semi-highspeed trains are setting a new benchmark for train travel. The most recent in this line of new trains is the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express. The Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, inaugurated this train on the 8th of April, Saturday. He also sat inside the stationary train and interacted with school children and the crew of the train.

The ticket price of this newly started Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express will differ based on what car and direction the passenger is travelling in. The ticket price for Chair Car or Economy Class from Chennai to Coimbatore is ₹1,365. Out of this, ₹308 is for catering which is optional.
The other class is the Executive Class, the ticket prices for which are ₹2,485. Out of this, ₹369 is for catering. Hence, if a passenger chooses to opt out of catering, the ticket will only cost them ₹1,057 for Chair Car or CC and ₹2,116 for Executive Car or EC.
However, the ticket price for Coimbatore to Chennai for Chair Car is ₹1,215 of which ₹157 is for catering; and ₹2,310 is for Executive Class of which ₹190 is for catering charge. Without catering, the prices are ₹1,058 and ₹2,120.

Station Names, Travel Time & Other Details
Starting from MGR Chennai Central Railway Station and Coimbatore Junction in each direction, the train will stop at Salem Junction, Erode Junction, and Tiruppur. The train will run as fast as 130 kilometres per hour, which will reduce the travel time to 5 hours and 50 minutes.
Passengers will save a total of 20 minutes of journey travelling in the Express because of its high speed. This Chennai-Coimbatore Express will be the second Vande Bharat Express from Chennai. The first one was inaugurated by the Prime Minister some time ago and travelled between Chennai and Mysuru.
