India Rain Update: South India To See Heavy Rain, Delhi-NCR May Get Showers Later This Week

Monsoon rain is expected across several parts of India on September 21. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala are among the places likely to receive rainfall. Other parts of the country may also see showers in the coming days.

Rainfall Alert Issued In South India

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, 21 Tamil Nadu districts are set to experience rainfall on September 21. They are: 

  • Nilgiris
  • Coimbatore
  • Dharmapuri
  • Krishnagiri
  • Dindigul
  • Pudukkottai
  • Tiruvarur
  • Nagapattinam
  • Mayiladuthurai
  • Perambalur
  • Ariyalur
  • Kallakurichi
  • Villupuram
  • Tiruvannamalai
  • Sivaganga
  • Thanjavur
  • Madurai
  • Cuddalore
  • Tirupattur
  • Vellore
  • Tiruchirappalli

According to The Hawk report, Tamil Nadu will experience rainfall as a low-pressure area over the northern Andaman Sea is affecting the weather and bringing moisture towards the state. Other than Tamil Nadu, Chennai is also expected to receive rainfall on September 21. As per the weather forecast, Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu and Ranipet will experience showers on September 23 and 24.

Which Are The Other Places To Receive Rainfall?

As per The Economic Times report, Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep are expected to experience rainfall. A yellow alert has been issued in Kerala.

Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha could see heavy rainfall on September 23 and 24. Vidarbha could see widespread rain from September 21 to 26, while East Madhya Pradesh may receive rain from September 23 to 26. As per Business Today, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh could see thunderstorms and lightning on September 25 and 26.
