The Maharashtra government is all set to establish a museum dedicated entirely to the beloved king Shivaji and his war tactics. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj War Art Museum will be set up in Gorai. According to the announcement made by the Tourism Department on Monday, this particular museum will soon begin construction work. People will be able to learn more about Shivaji’s guerilla warfare and how he utilised his techniques against his opponents.

On the 5th of June, Monday, the Department of Tourism announced the decision to set up a museum dedicated to Shivaji and his renowned guerilla warfare techniques. In order to construct this Chhatrapati Shivaji War Art Museum, a total of 136 acres of land will be cleared out in Gorai in Mumbai.

A total of ₹50 crores have been allocated as the budget to build this museum. The State Tourism Minister, Mangal Prabhat Lodha will oversee the construction of this museum. In addition to this the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation or the MTDC will spearhead the construction of this museum.

The work for this museum is set to begin soon. The design for the building has also been finalised. The decision to build the museum was taken in a special meeting which was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Lodha.

What To Expect From The New Museum

The new Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj War Art Museum will contain replicas of the forts conquered and built by the legendary king. It will also inform the masses about the kind of warfare tactic he used in battle.

Shivaji was known for his guerilla warfare and how he utilised the rugged and hilly terrain of Maharashtra to his benefit against his opponents. The museum will contain all the information about his battle strategies and will educate the public about some of his most remarkable victories.

The museum will be built on MTDC’s land and its construction will begin very soon.
