The decision to stop metro operations in such peak hours turned out to be quite a chaotic situation for commuters. It was at 7:46 PM when full metro services resumed between Ghatkopar and Versova. The duration of the suspension of the metro was the peak time for office-goers returning home. Metro stations, roads, and railway stations see an epic crowd at such hours every day. With the sudden suspension of metro services, the crowd only increased excessively at the Ghatkopar metro station.
Many Netizens took to the X platform to share pictures and videos of lakhs of people stranded at the Ghatkopar metro station and complained about all the issues they faced yesterday. Here are some X posts of social media users complaining about yesterday evening’s scary conditions.
Why didn’t you put out this notice yesterday? What about people who are now stranded at Ghatkopar metro station? Who will be responsible if a stampede takes places? #Mumbai #RoadShow #MumbaiMetro pic.twitter.com/Z1N0IhtWsl

Social media users complained how the notification post regarding the suspension of services between two busy metro stations was quite late, considering the alert for the peak rush hours. Many pointed out how the concerned authorities could have informed about this in advance as it would have helped people to make plans accordingly.

Another blunder by closing #Metro service between Jagruti Nagar and #Ghatkopar Metro station in peak hour on account of #NarendraModi #LBS #Mumbai visit for #LoksabhaElection #LS24 rally.
Direct impact on crowd accumulation further people would suffer & more risk of accident. pic.twitter.com/celkDLhLb8
