It’s quite common for Indian Railways passengers to take to X (formerly Twitter) to complain about unappetising food, dirty washrooms and other issues during their train journey. This time, a man took to X to share a shocking picture of cockroaches crawling all over his seat. He says they even crawled over him when he was sleeping. Read on to know more about this situation and hope you don’t get the heebie-jeebies.

Man Shares Pic Of Cockroaches Crawling Over Pillow & Walls In His Train

Aatif Ali, a passenger travelling in the AC compartment of the Andhra Pradesh Sampark Kranti Express took to X to draw attention to a shocking hygiene issue. He tweeted that in his train number 12708, A/C compartment, cockroaches roamed on his body when he was asleep. The infuriated passenger asks Indian Railways, “Where is the promised hygiene?”.

The passenger shared a picture where at least five cockroaches were seen crawling over the walls and even on the pillow. Railway Seva, the official customer care support to Rail users immediately responded. They asked Aatif Ali to share his journey details and Mobile number. For speedy redressal, they recommended he dial 139 and visit their website.

They further assured him that this issue has been escalated to the concerned authorities. In response, Aatif Ali thanked them for the prompt reply and stated that he is sure this issue has been solved. The passenger further added that he posted this on X and half an hour later, deboarded from the train at 9 am.

Netizens Share Times When Such Incidents Happened With Them

But Netizens were shocked and appalled at his grievance. Many took to the comments section of his tweet to lay down their concerns and opinions. One person commented that he faced a similar situation on train number 15024 on coach B1 and seat number 8 on August 4. Another joked that Railway officials will spray HIT on his seat and tell him to mark this issue as resolved.

Looks like the cockroaches aren’t travelling ticketless on train for the first time. Again another Netizens commented that he faced similar hygiene issues on the same train, 6 months back. That time, the officials sprayed HIT and told her that this issue just happened on her seat.
