The best part is that the Tata Group will open two new Taj resorts in Lakshadweep in 2026 which boast beach villas, water villas and more.
Tata Group To Unveil Two Taj Resorts In Lakshadweep In 2026
Tata Group’s hospitality subsidiary, Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has made an announcement to build two swanky Taj resorts in Lakshadweep. Scheduled to open in 2026, the two Taj resorts will come up on Kadmat and Suheli islands in Lakshadweep. Last January, the Indian Hotels company signed an agreement to build two Taj-branded resorts in Lakshadweep. IHCL will develop these Greenfield projects which will open in 2026.
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IHCL, stated that this agreement will put several destinations like Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan and Andaman Island on the global tourist map. Moreover, with a telos to minimise footprint, the resort will be developed with a special focus on sustainability. So, visitors can enjoy luxe amenities while preserving the fragile ecosystem of this underrated Indian destination.
Furthermore, Puneet Chhatwal stated that they see a significant tourism potential in Lakshadweep. Tourists heading to the Union Territory for its pristine beaches and coral reefs in the Arabian Sea can nest themselves in the upcoming world-class Taj resorts. These resorts will beckon both international and domestic tourists.

Beach Villas, Water Villas In Suheli & Kadmat
The Taj resort at Suheli will feature world-class stays. This includes 50 stunning water villas and 60 beach villas. The Taj hotel at Kadmat Island will offer gorgeous stays including 35 water villas and 75 beach villas. Suheli in Lakshadweep is a beautiful ring-shaped island which is rich in marine life and coral reefs. On the other hand, Kadmat, AKA Cardamom Island is another coral-rich island known for its marine protected area which nests marine turtles.
