Come August, Dubai RTA Plans To Resume Its Water Transport Between Dubai & Sharjah

If you are someone who travels between Dubai and Sharjah regularly, then you already know that it’s no joke. After all, the traffic can be quite insane on the route and so, what if we told you that you can now skip this traffic with an easier transportation service? Well, we are talking about the ferry service between Dubai and Sharjah this August. Here’s all you need to know about transportation line operation.

In a fantastic round of developments, Dubai Roads & Transport Authority took to its Twitter account to announce that it is resuming its operations of marine transportation between Dubai and Sharjah. Yes, we are talking about the Dubai Ferry, which will begin its operations once again between the two destinations on Friday, August 4. Not to mention, the Dubai Media Office also revealed that this Marine transport service will run eight journeys in a day from Monday to Thursday while the same will be six journeys from Friday to Sunday.

What About The Tickets & Timings?

A first-of-its-kind service that connects Dubai with other Emirates, this shuttle between Al Ghubaiba Marine Station in Dubai and Aquarium Marine Station in Sharjah is bound to make travel easier for people. It should be noted that this introduction of the Dubai ferry service between Dubai and Sharjah comes as a part of its effort for offering additional mobility choices and easing traffic intensity. It’s also worth mentioning that the journey itself takes 35 minutes!

On weekdays, there will be two, morning journeys from Sharjah at 7 AM and 8:30 AM, respectively; while there will be one from Dubai at 7:45 AM. Similarly, in the evening, there will be two journeys from Sharjah at 4:45 PM and 6:15 PM while there will be three journeys from Dubai at 4 PM, 5:30 PM, and 7 PM. Now coming to the tickets, the fare for a single journey is available at AED15 for Silver Class and AED25 for Gold Class. However, it should be noted that this is free of charge for people of determination and children under the age of five years.

So, if you have also been planning to travel between the two Emirates, make sure to pay the fare at Customer Service Desk at the station, use your nol card, or even buy the tickets online.
