Come November, UAE To Launch Its 1st Lunar Rover

UAE will launch its first lunar rover in November. The “Rashid” rover, named after Dubai’s royal family, will launch from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center at some point in November, the mission manager said on Monday to a state-affiliated media. The precise date will be revealed next month. Let’s check out more about the first lunar rover of UAE.

Falcon 9 SpaceX Rocket Will Soon Get Launched

In March, a Japanese ispace lander will place the Rashid rover on the moon and a Falcon 9 SpaceX rocket will have it aboard. The UAE’s wants to attain a leading role in space exploration, including the lunar expedition. If the moon mission is successful, the UAE and Japan will become the fourth country after the United States, Russia, and China to land a spacecraft on the moon’s surface.

An Emirati spacecraft has already been placed in orbit above Mars to examine its atmosphere. That probe was launched by the UAE in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan, swinging into Mars’ orbit in February 2021.

Rashid Rover Will Study The Moon’s Surface

The Rashid rover will examine the lunar surface, lunar surface mobility, and the interactions of various surfaces with lunar particles. Two high-resolution cameras, a tiny camera and a thermal imaging camera will be attached to the Rashid rover. In addition, a probe amongst other tools will be carried by the 10-kilogram (22-pound) rover. However, the UAE intends to build the most cutting-edge commercial satellite in the Middle East to provide high-resolution satellite pictures. UAE also aspires to develop a human settlement on Mars by 2117.
