Marriages are made in heaven, but weddings can happen anywhere. Anastasija and Josh Davis of British Columbia, Canada got married at home due to the coronavirus pandemic. The couple were supposed to get married on 3rd April amidst 135 guests, but as the epidemic escalated, they had to take a tough decision to rethink their wedding plans. But even though they got married in Josh’s parent’s living room, they drove out in their pre-booked limousine, which they couldn’t cancel. But here’s where the newly married couple received the surprise of their lives. Their neighbours, friends and members of the church cheered for the happy couple from their cars. They honked, screamed, and celebrated while maintaining social distancing. It was a marriage and a wedding made in heaven.
Wedding Amid Coronavirus
The Canadian couple, Anastasija and Josh Davis had got everything, from decor, party favours, music, photographer to even a DJ to have the perfect wedding. Everything was planned until three weeks before their wedding, the COVID-19 outbreak took over Canada. Many guests cancelled and gatherings of over 50 people were banned to stop the rapid spread of coronavirus. Initially, they decided to push the wedding date and restrict the number of guests. But later they decided that they had to make a decision to either get married or postpone the wedding. They chose the former. And even though it was heartbreaking, Anastasija and Josh Davis exchanged vows in Josh’s parents’ living room, which was beautifully decorated with drapings of white fabric.
Josh found it to be very personal and very intimate. They realised that when it comes to a beautiful wedding, you don’t need all the trappings, decorations and all such thing. All you need is your family and a few close friends. After the wedding, the newlywed couple rode in a limousine, which they couldn’t cancel. They drove through the neighbourhood to another location to click pictures.
And at that time, the best man told them to roll down their windows. And when they did, they were in a for a huge surprise. Their friends, neighbours and members of the church cheered for the couple from their cars which lined the street. There were so many familiar faces, peeking out from the windows of their cars congratulating and blessing the couple.

Heartwarming Surprise For the Newlyweds
The entire neighbourhood honked, cheered and yelled congratulations from their cars which lined the street. Anastasija and Josh broke down on witnessing this heartwarming surprise. Their friends and members of the church had coordinated one night before to line the streets with pom-poms, signs and garlands from their cars to congratulate them while social distancing. Anastasija and Josh walked down the street to greet them from a distance. And even though they couldn’t hug or do anything, they had their first dance on the street with a bunch of friends and random neighbours surrounding them.
