Morocco was hit by a scary earthquake on Friday night. The North African country has suffered tremendous loss because of the traumatising and devastating natural disaster Thousands of people faced injuries and many even lost their lives after the earthquake jolted different parts of the country. Cristiano Ronaldo showed his grand gesture and opened his hotel to offer shelter to the victims.

Nestled on the outskirts of Marrakech, the Pestana CR7 Marrakech is now helping the victims struck by the disaster. The Portuguese footballer’s hotel is a 4-star property and victims are now staying in it. Home to 174 rooms, many people have found shelter here after the Friday earthquake. These people are now going through one of the hardest phases of their lives. In just a few seconds, everything was demolished in front of them leading to a humongous loss.

To accommodate people and provide them with the necessary resources, the concerned people have made some changes and revamped the hotel to offer refuge to people affected by the natural disaster, according to a report by AS USA.

It is a grim situation for the country and the affected ones. Many people are coming together to help the victims.

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, ZEEZ 🌚 (@Swaggzeez1) shared a video of the strong earthquake hitting Morocco. The caption read that it was the strongest earthquake that Morocco experienced in the last 123 years.

  • More than 2,000 people have died because of the terrifying earthquake, according to a report by the Indian Express.
  • The number of injured people has reached about 2,000.
  • Over 1,400 people suffering from the earthquake are in critical condition now.
  • The High Atlas Mountains was the epicentre of the earthquake. This location is nestled about 72 km to the southwest of Marrakech.
  • The Morocco earthquake is said to be the greatest earthquake to jolt in the affected region in over 100 years, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
