1. 68,000 Traffic Signs Repaired & Replaced In Dubai

The Dubai RTA recently completed maintenance works on 67,816 traffic and directional signs across the emirate. This maintenance work has been going on for the past six months in 2023. And the work also included preventive maintenance jobs for 57,151 signs! Not to mention, this also included corrective maintenance jobs for 10,665 signs.

2. Etihad Airways To Begin Daily Flights To Nairobi From Nov 1

It was recently announced on the official account of the airline on X that they will be re-introducing daily flights to Nairobi. Yes, starting on May 1, 2024, this airline will be flying daily to the heart of Kenya. 3. Dubai Municipality Tests Self-driving Electric Vehicle

Dubai Municipality has tested a self-driving electric vehicle in Jumeirah and Umm Suqeuim beaches. These vehicles were tested for cleaning the cycling paths along the streets of the aforementioned beaches. As it happens, this is a part of the authority’s strategic efforts to manage waste effectively.

4. 11 Million Tourists Have Visited Morocco

According to Directorate of Studies and Forecasts, it was revealed that Morocco has received 11.1 million tourists in nine months. This is brilliant, as the arrivals were up by 9% as compared to the 2019 figures. Not to mention, the overnight stays had also increased by 2.6%.

5. UK-Based Virgin Atlantic Returns To Dubai

Dnata is partnering with Virgin Atlantic, which a UK-based airline. With the aim of supporting the airline’s highly anticipated return to Dubai this winter. As it happens, flights are now available for customers to book! Yes, it should, however, be noted that they will operate from October 30 2023 through to March 2024. And these will be four weekly seasonal services.

6. Remote Work Announced For Some In The UAE Due To Unstable Weather

Keeping the unstable weather conditions, and lashing rains in mind, the UAE Council of Ministers has issued a directive. Yes, this has been extended for some people, however, it will not include federal employees, that are required to be present at the workplace. This comes after heavy rains and thunderstorms peaked by Thursday afternoon, on October 26.

Unstable weather and heavy rainfall have been lashing over the UAE. And this is also happening in Dubai. As the rains have brought the city’s traffic to stand still, Dubai’s iconic tower, Burj Khalifa was hit by a flash of lightning during a storm. Yes, captured by several people online, the videos and pictures of the exact moment the skyscraper was struck, have been going viral on the internet.
