1. School Kids Injured In A Road Accident At Delhi Cantonment

About 7 kids studying at Kendriya Vidyalaya met with an accident in Delhi Cantonment, according to a report by the Indian Express. The kids were on their way to return home on October 17 and in between the journey, they got injured in the accident. A mini school bus hit the vehicle carrying the school kids and injured about 7 kids inside the van and the driver as well. Police have updated that the kids were taken to Army Cantt Hospital for treatment. Their parents later took them to other places as well. The kids are safe now but the driver faced injuries badly. He is admitted to the DDU Hospital for treatment.

2. Delhi Reported The Lowest Temperature Of October 2023
On October 17, the national capital saw a dip in its temperature. Tuesday reported a maximum temperature of 26.2°C. The officials of the weather department shared that this is the lowest maximum temperature of October, according to a report by Financial Express. In comparison to the temperature drop of the October month, the temperature recorded a decrease of 7°C this time.

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, IndiaMetSky Weather (@indiametsky) shared updates about Delhi’s weather.

Delhi experienced rainfall in different parts on Monday night. The lashing of rainfall in some places played a major role in dipping the temperature as well. Gusty winds, lightning, and thunder were also reported in places of East Delhi, South Delhi, and Noida. In fact, 2 flights had to divert their routes because of the rainfall in the national city, according to a report by News 18.

The incessant rainfall has led to a significant change in the weather. The temperature has dropped by a few degrees and the surroundings are getting cool and cosy. Vice president of Skymet Weather shared that the temperature has seen a dip of 5°C.
5. What Is The AQI Of The City?
The Air Quality Index reported on Wednesday is 130, as per the report of the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research. Recorded at 9 AM today, the AQI was reported to be in the moderate category, according to a report by The Hindu. After the poor category Air Quality Index on Sunday and Monday, Delhi’s AQI surely improved to some extent. A significant reason behind this is the Monday night’s rainfall in some places in Delhi.
