X user Bengal Cartel (@TheBengalCartel) shared a video showing how bikers are facing trouble while travelling on Chingrighata Flyover in Kolkata. According to the post, the authorities recently painted the flyover in multiple colours just before Durga Puja. While this was meant to add to the festive vibes, they may not have expected bikers to fall because of it.
In the video, not one but three bikers can be seen slipping on the road. According to the post, the fresh paint has made the flyover slippery. The X user even called Chingrighata Flyover “Kolkata’s newest bike-skating arena!” The video raised a serious concern, pointing out that public infrastructure is not a canvas for experiments.

No Injuries Reported Yet
So far, no major injuries have been reported, but the incident has raised serious concerns among commuters. Many netizens believe bikers are slipping because fresh paint on asphalt roads can change the friction between tyre rubber and the road surface. In the video, it can also be seen that it was raining, which may have added to the problem.
As the video went viral, many netizens called the incident scary. One user wrote, “This was supposed to happen. Hope nothing fatal happens there. Bikers, please avoid that overbridge during rain.” Many other users also advised bikers to avoid the flyover for now.
