Thailand May Soon Get Southeast Asia’s 1st Disneyland, Making The Dream Affordable For Indians

Are you dreaming of visiting Thailand but feel that a trip to Paris or Hong Kong is far more expensive? Then this one is for you. A dream visit to Disneyland might soon get more affordable, as Thailand is considering bringing a Disneyland theme park to the country. If everything goes well, Thailand could soon become home to Asia’s fifth Disneyland. Here’s everything you need to know.

Thailand Might Become Home To Asia’s 5th Disneyland

Have you always dreamt of meeting Mickey Mouse, Disney princesses, and other iconic characters at Disneyland, but found trips to Paris, California, Japan, or Hong Kong too expensive as an Indian traveller? Rejoice. Thailand might soon get its own Disneyland. Since Thailand is already considered an affordable destination for many Indians, the dream of stepping into Disneyland could soon become a reality for more travellers.

According to a report by The Economic Times, the Thai government is considering establishing a Disneyland theme park in the country’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The move is aimed at boosting tourism by attracting more international visitors. And let’s be honest, a Disneyland park can easily help achieve that goal, right?  If everything goes as planned, Thailand could become home to the fifth Disneyland in Asia and the first in Southeast Asia!

What Does It Mean For Indians?

As per a report by The Economic Times, apart from boosting tourism, the Thai government also aims to improve travel connectivity through its high-speed rail project connecting Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi, and U-Tapao airports. Currently, Southeast Asia does not have a Disneyland. This could make Thailand the first country in the region to have one, which would be a big win for travellers, especially Indians, as many travel to Thailand every year. Disneyland could be another tourist attraction for them, especially for families with kids.

Reportedly, the idea has already generated interest among Thai investors. However, many details have not been disclosed yet. The project is expected to attract many tourists throughout the year!
