Paris is expensive; there is no cute way around that. A coffee can become ₹800, a museum ticket can cross ₹3,000, and one impulsive taxi ride can make you question every financial decision you’ve made since leaving India. But Paris also happens to be one of those cities where you can spend an entire day seeing beautiful things without constantly pulling out your wallet. The trick is to mix the big-ticket experiences with long walks, free viewpoints, bakeries and neighbourhoods that don’t charge admission. So, if you’re planning five days in Paris on a budget, here’s an itinerary that packs in the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, Disneyland Paris, a Paris city tour, a sunset Seine cruise, Montmartre and a night at the Lido, without turning every day into a luxury holiday.

5-Day Paris Itinerary On A Budget: Eiffel Tower, Louvre & More

Day 1: Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe & Champs-Élysées

Your first morning in Paris should begin exactly where you think it should. At the Eiffel Tower!

Start at Trocadéro

Get to Trocadéro early and walk up to the viewing terrace. The Eiffel Tower appears across the Seine in all its unnecessarily photogenic glory. And the best part? It costs €0 (₹0). Take your photographs here before crossing towards the Champ de Mars.

Go Up The Eiffel Tower

The official Eiffel Tower prices make it fairly easy to choose your level of extravagance.

A second-floor ticket by stairs costs €14.80 (approximately ₹1,617).

The second floor by lift costs €23.50 (approximately ₹2,569). A lift ticket to the summit costs €36.70 (approximately ₹4,009). There is also a stairs-to-second-floor-plus-lift-to-summit ticket at €28 (approximately ₹3,059). For a budget trip, the €23.50 (₹2,569) second-floor lift ticket is the comfortable middle ground. You get the Paris skyline without spending almost ₹4,000 on one attraction.

Lunch: Baguette > Fancy Restaurant

This is your first Paris bakery lunch.

A baguette sandwich, pastry and drink can reasonably keep you around €10–15 (₹1,093–₹1,639), depending on where you buy them.

Take your food towards Champ de Mars and eat outside.

Afternoon: Arc de Triomphe

Take the Metro towards Charles de Gaulle–Étoile. The Arc de Triomphe is not just another monument to photograph from the pavement. Climb to the viewing terrace and the entire geometry of Paris suddenly makes sense.

The 2026 adult price is €22 (approximately ₹2,404) from April to September and €16 (approximately ₹1,748) from October to March.

Evening: Champs-Élysées

Walk down the Champs-Élysées towards Place de la Concorde.

You don’t need to shop. Actually, don’t shop. Your bank account will thank you.

Grab a coffee for around €3-5 (₹328-₹546) if you want a break, then keep walking as the avenue lights up.

Estimated paid attractions for Day 1: €37.50-€45.50 (₹4,098-₹4,971) depending on your Eiffel Tower ticket and season.

Day 2: Louvre, Paris City Tour & Sunset Seine Cruise

Day two is museum day, followed by a bus, followed by a boat. Basically, your feet get progressively less involved.

Morning: Louvre Museum

Get to the Louvre early. For non-EEA visitors, the current adult admission is €32 (approximately ₹3,496). EEA visitors pay €22 (approximately ₹2,404). If you’re travelling from India, the non-EEA rate is the one to budget for.

And please don’t make the rookie mistake of trying to see everything. The Louvre is enormous. Pick a handful of things you genuinely want to see, including the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and Winged Victory, and give yourself a few hours.

Lunch: Tuileries Garden

Pick up something from a bakery or supermarket for approximately €8-12 (₹874-₹1,311) and eat around the Tuileries Garden.

This is one of those Paris moments that looks expensive in photographs but doesn’t have to cost much at all.

Afternoon: Paris City Tour

If you don’t fancy walking between every major monument, take a panoramic coach tour.

PARISCityVISION’s 1.5-hour Paris City Tour currently starts at €29 (approximately ₹3,169) per person. The route includes sights such as the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Champs-Élysées, Notre-Dame and Musée d’Orsay, with audio commentary available in multiple languages. It departs from Place de Sydney near Bir-Hakeim, close to the Eiffel Tower.

This is also a nice way to see how spread out the city actually is.

Evening: Sunset On The Seine

Save your prettiest Paris hour for the river.

Bateaux-Mouches currently lists sightseeing cruises from €17 (approximately ₹1,857) when purchased through its website, against a standard price of €20 (₹2,185). The cruise lasts around an hour and passes landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, Musée d’Orsay and the Conciergerie.

Go around sunset. The boats operate frequently in high season, with departures every 30 minutes between 10 am and 10:30 pm from April to October.

This is also where I’d resist the temptation to book a fancy dinner cruise. You can have the Seine experience for €17 (₹1,857) and eat afterwards. A casual dinner can be around €15–25 (₹1,639–₹2,732).

Much easier on the wallet!

Day 2 major attraction cost: approximately €78 (₹8,522).

Day 3: Montmartre, Galeries Lafayette & Lido

Day three is less about ticking boxes and more about wandering. This is convenient because Montmartre practically refuses to be ticked off a checklist.

Morning: Montmartre

Start around Sacré-Cœur.

The basilica is free to enter, so your morning begins at €0 (₹0). Walk through Place du Tertre, explore the side streets and watch artists working around the square.

Don’t rush this bit. Montmartre is one of the few areas where taking the longer route is often the better route.

Lunch

Stop for a crêpe.

Budget around €5 – 12 (₹ 546 – ₹ 1,311) depending on whether you’re getting a simple sweet crêpe or a savoury meal. Add a drink for roughly € 2 – 4 (₹ 219 – ₹ 437).

Afternoon: Galeries Lafayette

Head towards Haussmann. You can enter Galeries Lafayette, see the famous Art Nouveau glass dome and then head to the rooftop terrace.

The rooftop is completely free (₹0) and offers panoramic views towards the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur and the Paris rooftops. No ticket or reservation is required, although weather can affect access.

Day 4: Disneyland Paris

And now we leave the budget zone for a few hours. Because you cannot have a five-day Paris itinerary that includes Disneyland and pretend Mickey is free.

Full Day: Disneyland Paris

Take the RER A towards Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy. Give Disneyland the entire day.

Do not attempt to visit Disneyland, return to central Paris for lunch and then casually squeeze in another museum. That is how holidays become logistical spreadsheets.

Disneyland Paris currently lists the following standard adult entrance prices:

1 Day / 1 Park: €129 (approximately ₹14,087)

1 Day / 2 Parks: €164 (approximately ₹17,918)

For this itinerary, choose one park. The €35 (₹3,831) difference between one and two parks is better spent elsewhere if you’re travelling on a budget.

What To Eat

Allow around €15-25 (₹1,639-₹2,732) for a casual meal inside the park.

And don’t build your entire day around food.

Build it around the attractions you actually want. Use the Disneyland Paris app to check wait times and plan your route instead of zig-zagging across the park every time you see a ride with a shorter queue.

Evening

Stay for the nighttime entertainment if your schedule and ticket allow. Then take the RER back to Paris.

Yes, you’ll be tired. Yes, it will be worth it!

Disneyland: €129 (₹14,087) for the standard 1-day/1-park adult ticket.

Day 5: Notre-Dame, Latin Quarter & A Very Parisian Goodbye

Keep the final day lighter. Your feet have already survived Disneyland. They’ve earned a morning off.

Morning: Notre-Dame

Head to Île de la Cité.

Notre-Dame Cathedral is open to visitors, and entry is completely free (₹0). The cathedral recommends making a free online reservation to reduce waiting times, although booking is optional.

And be careful here: there are websites selling what look like Notre-Dame tickets. Don’t pay. The cathedral explicitly says admission is free and warns visitors about fake paid tickets. Spend some time inside, then walk around Île de la Cité.

Late Morning: Île Saint-Louis

Cross over to Île Saint-Louis. This is a lovely section of Paris to explore without an agenda. Walk along the Seine. Look into the tiny shops. Stop for an ice cream if you’re there in warmer weather.

Lunch: Latin Quarter

Make your way towards the Latin Quarter.

A simple lunch can cost approximately €10-18 (₹1,093-₹1,967). Look beyond the restaurants immediately surrounding major tourist spots. Walk a few streets away and prices often become more reasonable.

Afternoon: Choose Your Own Paris

This is deliberately the least structured afternoon of the trip. If you still want another paid attraction, consider Sainte-Chapelle. If you’re tired, don’t.

Instead, walk through Saint-Germain-des-Prés, sit in the Luxembourg Gardens or browse the bookstalls along the Seine. Paris doesn’t need another ticket to keep you occupied.

Final Sunset

For your last evening, go back to the Seine.

Buy a pastry for approximately €2-4 (₹219-₹437), find a spot beside the river and watch the city turn gold and then glitter.

A bakery breakfast, a Louvre morning, a random Montmartre staircase, an Eiffel Tower view, a sunset on the Seine and a late-night walk down the Champs-Élysées can give you a very full Paris holiday without paying for every second of it.

And frankly, some of the best parts of Paris are the ones that don’t come with a ticket.
