The state government has devised a different plan to deal with the water issue in these areas. It has directed the Jal Sansthan (Water department) to send tankers to deliver water to these districts and then ensure that tube wells have generators ready for continuous water supply. For its water supply, the city of Dehradun currently relies on 3 river-spring sources and 283 tube wells. However, the groundwater level has decreased due to the temperature rise, which has impacted tube well capacity. The state water department in Dehradun said that it has located over 120 locations—16 townships, 16 colonies—across four zones that are very low on water.

A control room has been established in the city to alleviate the general public of the drinking water issue in response to the worries expressed by the residents over the water crisis. Additionally, the administration maintains a helpline number that individuals can use to report any issues regarding water. 8979010101, 9412038572, 9456375256, 9927057963, and 9557356265 are the helpline numbers.

The blistering heat not only exacts a toll on the physical well-being of the populace but also exacerbates the strain on water resources. However, the quest for water security extends beyond technological interventions, necessitating a holistic approach that integrates social, economic, and environmental considerations
