Incessant heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in Delhi. From major waterlogged chaos to traffic congestion, flooded areas around the city concern residents. Continuous massive downpours brought the capital city to a standstill. Several areas in Delhi witnessed record rainfall leading to people facing problems. The India Meteorological Department issued a red alert already alerting Delhiites about weather conditions.

Record showers triggered miserable conditions in the city. IMD asked people to avoid visiting outdoors and stay secure inside their houses. In fact, schools were declared closed on August 1.

Queues of vehicles jammed in traffic were seen in multiple areas in Delhi following very heavy rains. According to several reports and posts on X, commuters on the road remained stuck for over an hour. The cause of major congestion was primarily knee-deep water in the surroundings. From bustling parts such as Connaught Place, Ghazipur, and Karol Bagh to empty areas, waterlogging was reported in most locations in Delhi.

Multiple social media posts and reports on the Internet show visuals of water leakage at the New Parliament Building. Videos show water dripping from the building roof and a bucket kept under the place. Opposition parties and many Netizens are raising questions about the new infrastructure.

About seven people lost their lives to the scary submerged conditions. According to a report by NDTV, three people were electrocuted in IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram. Also, two people were killed as a wall collapsed.
