Delhi Metro Launches First Set Of Eight-Coach Trains On Oldest 34-Km Long Red Line

Delhi Metro is one of the best conveyance methods for anyone travelling within the city. It is fast, comfortable, and super easy to access. In a recent report, Delhi Metro announced introducing more coaches in the Red Line. The Red line, which is 34 km long, is said to have eight coach trains very soon. These trains will connect Rithala in Delhi to Shaheed Sthal Adda in Ghaziabad. Read on to know about these new trains on Red Line.

Trains Operated On The Red Line Route Of Delhi Metro

On Tuesday, as per multiple media reports, two trains were functional on the Delhi Metro Red Line. Both the trains were of eight coaches. Further, when the trains stop, it will be towards the end of the platform, as these trains will have eight coaches for the travelling passengers. The Red Line is the oldest line of the Delhi metro train services. Furthermore, a lot of factors are being considered before turning these trains into eight coaches. It is being ensured that the travel and timings of the trains are not being affected due to the ongoing work.

Other Developments On The Metro Trains

In 2021, the Yellow Line trains were also upgraded from six coaches trains to eight coaches. A few of the routes still have platforms, which can only cater to six coach trains. However, with time, specific routes will be upgraded and constructed to run trains with eight coaches. The Delhi Metro is an extensive train line with over 300 train sets, comprising six-coach trains, eight-coach trains, and even four-coach trains. The trains in Gurugram, Rapid Metro and Noida Metro are excluded from this number.
