According to recent data published by Euromonitor International, Delhi might soon make it to the list of top 10 most popular destinations in the world. We have the booming tourism industry to thank for this one. The national capital has become a popular spot among global tourists which is leading to Delhi ascending on the list.
What’s More
The Euromonitor International is a UK-based global market research company that has credited this to ‘the attention that India has gained for its yoga retreats and Ayurvedic practices.’ It was reported that currently, the city ranks at 11th position among the top 100 destinations in the world. Seeing the trend, it has been predicted that Delhi will move up to the 8th spot.
The Attractions
As per the report, Delhi has witnessed an average growth of over 25% in terms of international tourists. One of the main reasons behind this has been attributed to the world-class airports and the wide connectivity network that it has with destinations around the world. This has been a key reason for people to be able to travel to-and fro with ease. In fact, the airports will be soon be having a feature where air trains will be connecting the terminals – a first of its kind in the country.
Apart from that, Delhi is an amalgamation of art, culture and heritage. Not just that. It is a business hub as well. There is something in store for everyone. And the city’s connectivity to places like Agra, Jaipur and Amritsar also make it an ideal pit-stop or first stop destination for those who want explore the rest of the country.
Other Cities On The List
Hong Kong has topped the list of the world’s most popular destination. It is followed by Bangkok, London, Macau, Singapore, Paris, Dubai, New York City, Kuala Lampur and Istanbul.
Mumbai has also been listed among the top 20 destinations in the world that are gaining popularity among global tourists. According to the report, 43 Asian cities have been listed among top 100.
