US Senator JD Vance’s ongoing visit to India has tightened security measures across Delhi, especially in and around the central parts of the city. With diplomatic engagements lined up, including meetings with Indian leaders and policymakers, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed advisory listing routes for commuters to avoid and alternate paths. As a result of JD Vance’s India visit, key arterial roads across the capital have seen temporary traffic curbs, particularly in high-security areas like Lutyens’ Delhi. Authorities urge motorists to stay updated, plan their journeys, and allow extra travel time.

Roads To Avoid During JD Vance’s India Visit

Dailyhunt reports that officials have identified several important roads in the city as part of the restricted zone during JD Vance’s India visit. These include Sardar Patel Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, and Rajaji Marg. All these roads connect significant government and diplomatic buildings.

Due to security protocols, officials expect traffic to remain slow in these areas, especially during peak morning and evening hours. The police advisory states that while authorities haven’t entirely shut down any major roads, intermittent restrictions may cause congestion. The traffic department is also coordinating with other departments to avoid unnecessary bottlenecks.

Senior officials have requested public cooperation and asked motorists to follow diversions diligently to avoid delays and confusion. Extra police personnel have been deployed across the capital to help with traffic regulation and security checks.

Delhi Traffic Police Suggests Alternative Routes

To ensure smoother travel during JD Vance’s India visit, the Delhi Traffic Police has recommended using Ring Road and Lodhi Road for commuting in and out of central Delhi.

Those travelling from Dhaula Kuan towards India Gate should steer clear of Sardar Patel Marg and instead take the Ring Road route. For commuters from South Delhi aiming to reach Connaught Place or surrounding areas, Lodhi Road is the preferred option.

Public transport services, including DTC buses and metro trains, are expected to operate on regular schedules. However, slight detours are possible on some bus routes intersecting the restricted areas.

Pedestrians and cyclists are also advised to stay alert and follow instructions from traffic officials stationed at key junctions.

JD Vance’s India visit comes amid growing strategic cooperation between the United States and India.

A rising figure in US politics and a potential vice-presidential candidate, Senator Vance is in Delhi to strengthen diplomatic ties, encourage trade partnerships, and discuss regional security matters.
