Delhi has an extremely rich culture and heritage. While presenting Delhi Budget 2021-22 last week, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia proposed two programmes namely, ‘Delhi Heritage Promotion’ and ‘Delhi Tourism Circuit’ to promote the rich cultural heritage of the capital city. Heritage walks, weekly cultural events at historical sites, and regular workshops on poetry writing are among several proposals to brand the national capital as the tourist and cultural hub of India.
The Government Plans To Promote The Neglected Heritage Sites
The government also announced an allocation of ₹521 crores for the implementation of the twin projects. Delhi Tourism will roll out the schemes in association with the arts, culture, and language department and Delhi Archives. The government also plans to promote Mehrauli and other heritage sites associated with the freedom movement of India.

History Books To Have Historical Events In Delhi
The government plans to chalk out tourism promotion at Mehrauli, Jaunti, Neela Hauz, and Mutiny Circle. The government also plans to add Delhi’s history to the syllabus. Heritage Walks And Musical Gigs At Lesser-Known Historical Structures
The government also plans to hold weekly performances and exhibitions on the ‘neglected’ or lesser-known historical structures. Apart from heritage walks, the tourism department plans to organise musical gigs, traditional artisan fairs, live performances, and workshops at heritage buildings. There were also proposals to organise workshops for improving writing skills and teach students how to pen a Ghazal or Doha. With all these events, Delhi is all set to become an even more exciting spot for tourists.
