Many farmer associations from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab have planned a march towards Delhi on February 13. Seeing this, the Delhi Police imposed a section 144 and sealed several sides of the Delhi border connecting it to the neighbouring states. Now, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a series of advisories about traffic restrictions/diversions. The traffic police issued a detailed advisory on their X (formerly Twitter) handle, @dtptraffic.

Traffic restrictions will be in effect at the Singhu and Tikri Border from Monday. There are some route diversions as well as restrictions on several commercial vehicles at these borders. For people travelling from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh via Ghazipur, the police suggest taking alternate routes due to blocked borders. The Delhi Traffic Police has also put barricades in many areas. Checking has also been intensified along the Ghazipur border. The entry of tractors, trolleys, buses, trucks, and commercial vehicles from UP has been banned in Delhi. This order is likely to remain in effect until March 11.

After the imposition of Section 144 on Sunday, thousands of police personnel were deployed at the Delhi borders. They have put around concrete blocks, road spike barriers, and even barbed wires to seal the borders. All these steps are taken to avoid any disturbance in the capital ahead of the farmers’ march. It is scheduled for February 13. Several police teams have been deployed at bus stands, metro stations, railway stations, and roads to keep a vigilant eye on the protestors.
