In the world of books, the journey never truly ends—it only begins anew with each page turned and each story shared. The National Book Trust (NBT) of India is organising the 51st New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF). It is scheduled to open at Pragati Maidan in Delhi on February 10.

The Delhi Traffic Police has released a traffic advisory ahead of the World Book Fair to allow city dwellers to avoid the lengthy traffic bottlenecks and congestion caused by the book fair crowd on the roadways. The Delhi Traffic Advisory lists the main thoroughfares as follows:

  • Significant traffic to be on Mathura Road, Ring Road, Bhairon Road, Purana Quila Road, and Shershah Road
  • Vehicles not to park or stop on Mathura Road or Bhairon Marg.
  • Parking on Bhagwan Das Road, Tilak Marg, Purana Quila Road, and Shershah Road

Visitors will be able to access through Gates 4 and 10, however, admission through Gates 5B, 6, 7, 8, and 9 is restricted. Exhibitors will only be able to enter by Gate Numbers 1, 5B, and 10, while ITPO officials will enter through Gate Numbers 9, 10, and 1.

As the nation’s capital prepares to hold the Delhi World Book Fair 2024 in Pragati Maidan in Central Delhi starting today, February 10, 2024, book enthusiasts are in for a treat. The book fair is scheduled to run for nine days, ending on February 18, 2024. It is anticipated that 25,000–30,000 people will attend in a single day, with the possibility of an additional 10,000 attendees. It’s a place where strangers bond over a shared love for literature. The event will be inaugurated by Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan.

At the heart of the World Book Fair lies the essence of storytelling. The Delhi World Book Fair 2024 will be the largest book fair. Spanning 50,000 square metres, it features over 400 stalls selling books in languages such as Hindi, English, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Malayalam and more and is held in halls 1–5 of Pragati Maidan. Visitors have the opportunity to explore diverse literary traditions.
