On December 17th, the much-anticipated second Vande Bharat train between Varanasi and Delhi will begin operation! This sleek, semi-high-speed train aims to make travel faster and more comfortable for passengers. The train timings include leaving Varanasi at 6 a.m. and reaching Delhi by 2 p.m. It stops for a breather at Kanpur and Prayagraj. Do you have a strong desire to visit Delhi? Not a problem! The return journey begins at 3 PM and ends at 11 PM, with the same convenient stops. The forthcoming train, which will be painted blue and white, will run between Varanasi and New Delhi. Following the inauguration of the New Delhi-Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express with train numbers 22435/22436 in 2019, this would be the route’s second ultra-modern train.
According to an article by India.com, India’s railway system is expected to be massively expanded. There are plans to have 4,500 Vande Bharat trains running across the country by 2047. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated this ambitious objective, as well as plans for India’s first high-speed bullet train by 2026-27 and the inauguration of Navi Mumbai’s second airport by the end of 2024.
Indian Railways recently published a video of the Vande Bharat Express passing through Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The Varanasi-Delhi Vande Bharat Express is more than simply a train; it’s a moving canvas that paints a vibrant symphony of colours as it travels through the verdant farmlands on Varanasi’s outskirts. The voyage on this high-speed marvel is an extraordinary experience, providing passengers with a unique blend of comfort, speed, and the beautiful beauty of India’s heartland.

Vande Bharat: A Significant Leap Forward
Similarly, the introduction of the Mangaluru-Goa Vande Bharat Express is a huge step forward because it will not begin in Bengaluru, the state capital. This effort demonstrates Karnataka’s commitment to bringing high-speed rail to all corners of the state, supporting equitable development, and improving regional connections.
Launched in 2019, the train represents a significant leap forward in terms of speed, comfort, and energy efficiency. One of the most noteworthy features of the Vande Bharat Express is its indigenous manufacturing. The train’s aerodynamic design, stainless steel body, and advanced features make it a symbol of modern engineering in the Indian Railways. The high-speed capability significantly reduces travel time between major cities, enhancing the overall efficiency of the rail network. This semi-high-speed train currently connects important routes like Delhi to Varanasi, and Katra, with plans for further expansion to other key destinations in the future.
The seating arrangement is ergonomically designed, providing a comfortable and spacious environment for passengers. The train utilises regenerative braking systems. This helps in energy conservation by converting the kinetic energy during braking into electrical energy. This innovative approach not only makes the train more eco-friendly. Additionally, it also contributes to the overall sustainability of the railway system.
