Delhiites, Take Note Of This Traffic Advisory By Delhi Police Ahead Of Republic Day 2023 Parade

Republic Day is near, and the national capital is gearing up for a top-notch parade. This means dress rehearsals for army personnel and traffic for Delhiites. To maintain a smooth flow of vehicle movement, Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory that you should follow if you are travelling anywhere near the parade area. Here are the details to take note of.

Since the dress rehearsal is to start at 10:30 am, there will be no traffic movement from Vijay Chowk to India Gate from 6:00 pm on Sunday. Also, there will be no cross traffic on Man Singh Road, Rafi Marg and Janpath from Sunday 11:00 pm till the end of the parade. However, the area of India Gate will be closed on Monday from 9:15 am. At Tilak Marg, Subhash Marg, and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, cross-traffic will be allowed depending on the movement of the parade. Moreover, traffic in both directions will not be allowed from 10:30 am. Commuters are advised to avoid the parade’s route from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.

As for metro services, two yellow lines will remain shut on Monday including Kendriya Sachivalaya and Udyog Bhawan stations.

Regulations For Area Near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium

Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is included in the Republic Day celebration. The Tribal Dance festival and Military Tattoo will be held here. Thus, the area including Lodhi Road, Mahrishi Raman Marg, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Arch Bishop Marg, Subramanian Bharti Marg, Max Muller Marg, and Bhisham Pitamah Marg will be affected. Also, it is advised to commuters to avoid these areas on Monday and Tuesday from 11:00 am and 9:00 pm.
