Good news, Delhiites! Your travel is all set to get smoother as the National Capital Region Transport Corporation or the NCRTC has an efficient new initiative. It is launching an integrated QR ticketing system which will allow travellers to book tickets on both, the Delhi Metro as well as the Namo Bharat metro rail service. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this particular new system.

You Can Get Delhi Metro And Namo Bharat Tickets Together

According to an article which was recently published by Jagran English, the initiative was launched by NCRTC the authority that manages the Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System or RRTS and Delhi Metro. The announcement was made on Monday, November 18, 2024, by the officials.

This particular initiative is being dubbed the “milestone initiative,” and it aims to make the experience of travelling on the metro smoother and more convenient. You can book tickets from the RRTS Connect App as well as the DMRC Momentum 2.0 app.

In addition to these apps, commuters can also book tickets for Namo Bharat from the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation or the IRCTC App. This is owing to a Memorandum of Understanding or MoU signed between NRCTC and IRCTC.

Online booking will also mean that paper waste is reduced. It is, therefore, quite an eco-friendly scheme. This initiative also is in alignment with the government’s One India – One Ticket program. The corridor of RRTS stretches across 42 kilometres as of now.
