According to an article which was recently published by Hindustan Times or HT, the new wearable tickets were launched on April 10, Wednesday. The Mumbai Metro One Pvt. Ltd. or MMOPL inaugurated this new type of ticketing system.

The line one of Metro connects Versova, Andheri and Ghatkopar. The new tickets will come in the form of water-proof wristbands which are QR-coded. To get through the Automated Fare Collection gate or AFC, all you have to do is scan it and pass.

This will further streamline ticket collection and make travelling more seamless. The wristbands also don’t require charging so you don’t have to worry about when they’ll run out of battery. They’re made from Silicone-based material which will not irritate the skin.
