In case you didn’t know, there is a prestigious award given to airports around the world. Skytrax, which is a consultancy based in the United Kingdom, has released the rankings of airports worldwide. The World Airport Awards are given based on the information provided by this consultancy. Now, for the fifth time in a row, Delhi’s IGI airport, the international airport of the region, has been awarded as the best airport in the South Asian continent.
Delhi’s IGI Airport Declared The Best In South Asia
It is a proud moment for all the Delhiites since according to the survey conducted by the UK-based consultancy, Skytrax, the Indira Gandhi International Airport or IGIA turned out to be the best airport, not just within the country but also in the entirety of the South Asian subcontinent.
That’s not all! The Delhi airport has also received the award for the cleanest airport in the country. This will be the third time in a row that the Delhi airport is receiving this prestigious award. This is definitely another feather in the caps of Delhi airport officials. The officials said that they were proud of this achievement and that they had worked really hard for this.
Delhi Airport awarded a 4-Star Rating
The Delhi International Airport Limited or DIAL also released a statement saying that they have also received a four-star rating from the Skytrax consultancy. Furthermore, the Delhi airport is the only international airport in the country that was featured in the list of the top 50 airports of the world.
They also went on to mention that the survey is done completely independent of the inputs of the airport authority. They only evaluate customer responses and surveys and examine their satisfaction level. This means that no internal tampering or funny business is taking place in the awards and that the survey and the awards are completely reliable.
