I Found A Colonial-Inspired Noida Gem Serving Truffle Dimsums, Shandong Wings & Very Pink Drinks

Noida is very good at keeping secrets in plain sight. You can be driving through the usual traffic, surrounded by crowds, buildings and the general madness of the city, and then suddenly walk into Colosseum and wonder if you somehow took a wrong turn. Because nothing about the streets outside prepares you for this place. Inside, it is a completely different story. There is a piano, there are plants everywhere, and the interiors have this beautiful mix of modern minimalism and old-school royalty, with a slightly colonial feel running through the space. It is fancy, but not in the “look how fancy I am” kind of way. Everything feels rather understated. That was probably what surprised me most! We got a beautiful table, settled in, and, for a while, it genuinely felt like we had escaped Noida without actually leaving Noida.

Colosseum: The Belgian Chocolate Shake Was Not A Sugar Bomb

I started with the Belgian Chocolate Shake, and thankfully, it did not taste like someone had poured half a kilo of sugar into a glass and called it chocolate. It was rich, chocolatey and filling, but not cloyingly sweet. I actually liked that because Belgian chocolate should have that deeper chocolate flavour instead of just tasting sugary.

And then there was the foam. A LOT of foam! 

I am not complaining. In fact, I am very much pro-foam when it is done right, and this one definitely was. Colosseum clearly does not believe in being stingy with its drinks.

The Vietnamese Coffee was a completely different experience. Coffee lovers, this one is for you. It has that slightly bitter hit at first and definitely needs a little getting used to. But once you settle into the flavour, it works beautifully alongside a meal.

The Mango Mania was probably the easiest one to fall in love with. It had enough mango to actually taste like mango, without becoming aggressively sweet.

The Dim Sums Looked Like They Belonged Here

We ordered the Four Treasure Mushroom Dimsums with button mushrooms and truffle oil in a translucent wrapper. These were almost too pretty to immediately attack with a fork.

What I liked was how naturally they fit into the restaurant. The dim sum were delicate and polished, much like the interiors. Nothing about the dish felt random.

Then The Shandong Wings Arrived, And Things Got Spicy

The Shandong Drums of Heaven were a completely different personality. These are crispy chicken wings tossed in spicy Shandong sauce with scallions, and they are spicy. Properly spicy! 

But here is the thing. The heat does not come at the cost of the chicken. The wings stay juicy, the outside stays crisp, and the sauce has enough flavour to make you reach for another one despite knowing exactly what is coming.

These would be my pick if you want something with a little drama on the table. And yes, the name checks out. They really can send you to heaven.

Pizza, But Finally On Your Own Terms

We went for the Smoked Chicken Pizza, and I chose the Neapolitan version.

Colosseum offers pan, thin crust and Neapolitan pizzas, which sounds like a small detail until you are someone who has strong pizza opinions. 

The pizza came with house-smoked barbecue chicken, jalapeños and caramelised onions. It was spicy, smoky and tangy without becoming a flavour overload.

The crust was smooth and easy to eat, and the jalapeños gave it that little kick I wanted. The caramelised onions added just enough sweetness to balance everything.

Also, because we had already eaten the starters, I appreciated that the pizza wasn’t buried under a mountain of toppings. It was filling, but I could still enjoy it.

Tiramisu And Then One Very Pink Surprise

For dessert, we had the Tiramisu Cake. It was soft, indulgent and had exactly the kind of coffee-and-cream combination I wanted after the meal. It was a lovely little sweet ending without feeling like we had suddenly ordered an entirely new meal.

But the thing I am still thinking about is actually a drink that is launching soon.

Colosseum’s upcoming Sparkling Rosé is pink, fruity, tangy, refreshing and dangerously easy to like. Everything about it felt balanced. It wasn’t too sweet, wasn’t too sour and didn’t have one flavour aggressively fighting for attention.

It genuinely tasted like someone had sat down and said, “Okay, let’s get every proportion exactly right.”

You look at Noida outside, and you would never guess that something this polished, pretty and quietly extravagant is sitting right there. It feels like a little escape, but without trying too hard to be one.

And frankly, my fellow foodies, sometimes that is exactly what you want.
