Diwali, known as the festival of lights, holds a special place in the hearts of Indians worldwide. Symbolising the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance, this vibrant celebration unites families and friends in joy and prosperity. This year, Emirates Airlines decided to celebrate Diwali a little early with special offerings on flights to India.

Diwali Festivities With Emirates Airline With Special Treats

Emirates Airline, the world’s largest international carrier, is joining the Diwali celebrations from November 9 to 15. Get ready as the airline will offer a delightful array of offerings for passengers flying to and from India. Traditional Diwali sweets and delicacies are among the highlights, available to all passengers heading to nine Indian destinations, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Cochin, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Expect to relish the famous motichoor laddu, a sweet comprising tiny gram flour balls soaked in sugar syrup and adorned with silver leaf. Moreover, First Class and Business Class passengers will be treated to the delectable pista rolls, a creamy delicacy made from pistachio paste and milk powder.

Global Lounge Offerings

The Diwali festivities extend to select lounges across Emirates’ global network. In Dubai, the First Class Lounge will offer a thali set featuring a variety of Indian dishes like dal makhani, paneer butter masala, vegetable biryani, and naan bread. The delightful kulfi falooda, a traditional Indian ice cream infused with saffron and pistachio, will sweeten the experience. The Business Class Lounge will present a feast of kachori, samosa, angoori rabdi, and rasgulla, accompanied by a special phuljadi cocktail. Ladoo, jalebi, and burfi will also be available in lounges in Cape Town and Johannesburg, catering to the significant Indian community there.

Bollywood Entertainment & Special Cocktails

Emirates will elevate the celebratory atmosphere with an extensive collection of Bollywood movies, music videos, albums, and playlists on its award-winning ice entertainment system. Passengers will have access to over 260 Indian films, including classics and regional hits like Kantara, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and more. Special collections from Yash Raj Films, renowned for their iconic romantic movies, will be available for viewing. Additionally, customers can indulge in music videos from Yash Raj Music and listen to over 30 albums and playlists of Indian music across various genres. To add to the festivities, Diwali-themed cocktails and mocktails will be offered on board. First Class and Business Class passengers can enjoy the refreshing Rum ta jogi, while Economy Class passengers can relish the non-alcoholic Anar ka shorba.
