This Italian village is selling hundreds of abandoned homes for as low as €1 in a destination called Ollolai.

What Is It?

To help preserve the history and bring back the population in what would otherwise be called a ‘Ghost Town’ is what this village is trying to resolve by looking for committed buyers. These abandoned houses are being sold off at €1 (₹80) for buyers who are willing to renovate it and keep it.

What’s In It?

Nestled in a beautiful destination in the mountains of Barbagia on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, it also boasts a lot of history and value to it.

The 200 stone-built dwellings are although in poor condition and need to be renovated which will require the buyers to be committed to that sort of a refurbishment withing three years.

In an attempt to rescue the falling of this town, it plans to adhere to its traditions and history still intact. The mayor of this town, Efisio Arbau, is in hope that it will bring a positive impact resulting in newer job opportunities and reviving the local economy.
