Drunk Man Molests Air Hostess On Dubai-Amritsar Flight, Arrested And Booked At Amritsar Airport

These days, the news of drunk passengers creating nuisances on flights has become a regular one. Every day, some passenger from some plane is drunk and misbehaving with other fellow passengers. Many people have therefore spoken up about either banning liquor consumption or limiting it on flights. In a recent incident, a drunk man on the IndiGo Dubai-Amritsar flight molested the air hostess after a heated argument.

Drunk Man On Dubai-Amritsar Flight Molests Air Hostess

A passenger named Rajinder Singh, hailing from Kotli village in Jalandhar, Punjab, was travelling on a Dubai-Amritsar flight. He began consuming liquor soon after the IndiGo flight flew from Dubai. After excessive drinking, Rajinder began misbehaving with the women crew member on the flight.

The incident took place on IndiGo flight number 6E 1428. The man also began screaming inside the plane. He got into a heated argument with the air hostess and then allegedly molested her.

The Amritsar control room was notified about this incident by the crew members. A police complaint was lodged by Ajay, who is the Assistant Security Manager of Indigo Airlines. The plane landed at the Shri Guru Ramdas ji International Airport in Amritsar at its scheduled time.

Immediate Action Was Taken

The accused man was immediately arrested as the Dubai-Amritsar flight landed at the Amritsar airport. The complaint registered by Ajay Kumar was under Sections 354 and 509 of the IPC by the Rajasansi Police Station.

Rajinder was charged with violating Indian Penal Code Sections 354 (attack or criminal force on a lady with the intent to degrade her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to offend the modesty of a woman).

This is not the first time that such incidents have taken place in the air. In the last incident, a passenger was deboarded from the flight for his unruly behaviour and for harming two crew members on the flight. This incident took place on a Delhi-London flight, and the passenger was deboarded at Delhi airport.
