Get ready to be awestruck by the breathtaking beauty of the Arabian Desert and other glamorous sights as air taxis may soon soar through the skies. His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president and prime minister of the UAE and the ruler of Dubai, gave the seal of approval for the designs of air taxi stations. These futuristic marvels had been deputed just a day before at the prestigious event of the World Government Summit (WGS).
First City In The World Featuring Fully Developed Vertiports Network

At the ongoing annual event held in Dubai, the simulator allows visitors to test drive the air taxi. As it happens, the ride itself is quite smooth, offering a fantastic view of the mesmerising city! In fact, aerial taxis are going to have a top speed of 300 kilometres per hour with a maximum range of 241 kilometres. The seat is built to resemble that of a race car, complete with a gear and control stick. Not to mention, the dashboard indicates altitude and several other factors.
Four Main Areas To Be Connected
So when a rider spots a vertiport, they can gently begin the descent to land. With this move, Dubai will become the first city in the world to have a fully developed network of vertiports. Pretty awesome, isn’t it? In fact, a model of a vertiport close to the Dubai International Airport sits right next to the simulator. It’s located right next to the metro station, at an open elevation featuring four vertiports in each corner.

As it happens, the new aerial taxis are expected to begin operations starting in 2026 in the UAE. In fact, the initial launch network is going to connect four main areas. These will include Dubai International Airport, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, and Dubai Marina.
