The choreographer-director recently appeared on Sunday Brunch with Kamiya Jani alongside his wife, Lizelle D’Souza. Over a comforting meal that included rich and flavourful mutton, the couple spoke candidly about life, routine, and the frightening medical emergency that changed everything.
Remo D’Souza Shares Shocking Heart Attack Story
Remo D’Souza has built an entire career on movement, stamina, discipline, and control. So when his own body suddenly failed him, even he could not believe it.
What made the story hit harder was this: Remo is not someone people associate with neglecting health; he is quite the opposite. He explained that discipline has been wired into him since childhood because he studied in an Air Force school. That kind of environment leaves a mark, and it clearly did.
Even now, he lives with the same sharp sense of order. He said he maintains a clean diet, protects his sleep schedule, and exercises regularly. He has never smoked in his life. Drinking, according to him, is extremely occasional. This is not the profile people imagine when they hear the words “heart attack.”
Remo’s Health Scare Shows Illness Can Surprise Anyone
Kamiya Jani pointed out how shocking that moment must have been and Remo agreed. He admitted that even today, he still wonders how it happened to him.
Then came the memory of that day! He was in the gym, exactly where someone like him would be. Then he felt pain in the centre of his chest. Enough to pause, enough to lie down for a few minutes and hope it would pass.
It did not! He got into the lift and collapsed there. Suddenly, all the years of routine, workouts, and discipline meant nothing without urgent medical help. Lizelle acted fast and got him to the hospital. Doctors performed a stent procedure, and within around 30 to 45 minutes, the immediate danger had been managed.
Today, Remo’s story lands because it destroys the lazy myth that illness only happens to careless people. Bodies are more complicated than that. Sometimes, someone who appears healthiest on the outside is fighting a silent issue no one can see.
